What type of fillers does Dr. Kwan use?

Botox and Fillers Home
Dr. Kwan uses several types of fillers, including what is known as Hyaluronic Acid. Hyaluronic Acid is a material that dissolves when injected, over a period of three months to a year. It is marketed by different companies under different brand names, but the most common brands used today are Restylane and Juvederm.

Restylane lasts for a short period of time, but is good for use around the eye and lip area. Juvederm is used in the nasolabial groove in the face and the cheek area. It also depends on the patients’ choice of the alternatives they would prefer to use. However, Dr. Kwan prefers to use Juvederm because it tends to last longer than Restylane.

There is another material known as Radiesse, which is a calcium beed. Radiesse is great for the cheekbone area, especially when patients are having facial sagging and have developed grooves in that area. It provides a little more of a lifting effect, and is also excellent for use around the nasolabial area. Dr. Kwan does not usually use Radiesse on the lips or the eyelid area.

Lastly, Dr. Kwan makes use of the filler known as Sculptra as part of his non-invasive skin procedures. This filler is an ideal solution for the restoration and correction of any signs of facial fat loss in patients. Facial fat loss is a very common condition among people who suffer from the human immunodeficiency virus or HIV. Since Sculptra is biodegradable filler, it is often used with dissolvable stitches. In order to get the finest of results, Sculptra can be used on nasolabial folds, cheeks and the frown lines. The desirable changes which result from the application of this filler are known to last as much as two years. With the aesthetic changes that it offers, patients can enjoy a youthful appearance and a life of happiness.
